FloWrestling Scorekeeper Turns Dual Meets Into Live Data

FloWrestling launched FloWrestling Scorekeeper, a dual-meet scoring app that sends results into Trackwrestling as coaches tap them. At launch it covers Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco duals and is listed on the App Store.

Tournaments on Trackwrestling have been live-scored for years. Duals were the hole: a clipboard, then a later login to type the bouts so athlete pages, brackets, and weekly rankings could catch up.

Dual Meets Were Still a Paper Job

FloWrestling describes the old dual-meet loop in plain terms. A coach or table worker writes the bout, then retypes the same result into Trackwrestling after the gym empties. Scorekeeper is built for that night, not for a 40-mat tournament.

The typing is the part that eats the evening. Anthony Mazza, wrestling coach at Mountain Valley in Maine, has used MatBoss to film and score, then push the file into Trackwrestling instead of keying a long card by hand.

You realize that with 47 matches in a night, you have to enter all that info and it takes a lot of time. This new technology, you video the match, and it scores the match right on it. It’s all linked to TrackWrestling and FloWrestling. At the end, all I have to do is hit upload and all the information goes to Track. Takes me 30 seconds instead of 30 minutes.

Those 47 bouts are a tournament night, not a 14-weight dual. The same backlog shows up after a dual, only the card is shorter and easier to leave in a bag until Sunday. Rankings, profiles, and opponent scouting all wait on that late typing.

Scorekeeper Writes Straight Into Trackwrestling

FloWrestling Scorekeeper is a first-party mobile scorer for coaches and event admins, sold as part of NextGen Wrestling. FloWrestling says results entered in the app flow into season management, athlete profiles, and event data on FloWrestling and Trackwrestling, so the dual does not sit on paper until someone opens a laptop.

WHAT THE APP TAKES OFF THE TABLE

• Live dual scoring: Coaches score the meet on a phone or tablet instead of a bout sheet.
• No paper loop: The listed pitch is to drop handwritten dual scoring and the retype that follows.
• Three styles: Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco duals are supported at launch.
• Practice mode: Users can run the workflow before a real dual, which is the step most table apps skip.

Independent tools already score a dual on a tablet. Grappler App runs a table, clock, and dual totals, and it can file a final team score for authorized GHSA officials in Georgia. Wrestling+ keeps a local scorebook with no account. What those apps do not own is Flo’s season database. Scorekeeper’s claim is that the tap at the table is the same tap that updates the pages fans already refresh.

Trackwrestling is not starting from zero on duals. Its help files already walk a coach through an Offline Controller that can score duals without a reliable connection, then sync the card back to the season. There is also a mobile browser path for live entry so a parent dashboard can move while the bout is scored. Scorekeeper is the native app version of that job, sitting inside NextGen rather than a bookmarked controller page.

FloSports Bought Trackwrestling in 2021

FloSports, the Austin streaming company behind FloWrestling, nearly 10,000 wrestling events each year sat on Trackwrestling when it bought the platform from NBC’s SportsEngine on February 5, 2021. Trackwrestling, started in 2003, was already the official event system for the National Wrestling Coaches Association. Flo said it was the official scoring system for more than 40 state high school tournaments and for the NCAA Division I, II, and III championships, and that the deal added 700 events to Flo’s calendar.

That purchase is five years old. Scorekeeper is what you build when the media company already owns the event software and still watches duals arrive as delayed typing.

HOW FLO TOOK OVER THE WRESTLING DATABASE

1. 2003: Trackwrestling starts as event software for brackets, registration, clocks, and results.
2. February 5, 2021: FloSports buys Trackwrestling, including assets and broadcast rights, and keeps the NWCA and NCAA scoring work in place.
3. September 3, 2025: FloSports launches the all-new FloWrestling platform launched in 2025, built to replace Trackwrestling and FloArena as the public home for brackets.
4. November 2, 2025: FloWrestling says Trackwrestling and FloArena events now live under FloWrestling’s Schedule tab, with free notifications for brackets, mat assignments, and results.
5. September 5, 2026: FloWrestling posts an early look at NextGen scouting reports, the fan-facing side of the same stack Scorekeeper is meant to feed.

Travis Shives, GM of FloWrestling, tied that 2025 relaunch to a single hub. “For the first time, fans have a single platform where live events, exclusive content, immersive brackets, real-time results, and athlete profiles come together,” he said. FloWrestling also says it streams over 1,500 live events a year and holds a library of 3+ million clips going back to 1999. Video is the product fans pay to watch. The score at the table is the product the rankings engine eats.

Monday Rankings Run on Dual Results

FloWrestling Premium Rankings do not wait on a writer’s ballot. A Trackwrestling help article, last updated September 10, 2026, says the model is updated every Monday from Trackwrestling results. It weighs win-loss records, pins, technical falls, major decisions, strength of opponents, and past patterns. A wrestler needs five matches at one weight before the model will rank them. Each team is told to keep its own season results clean. If a weight class is wrong, the fix goes through the coach, not a Flo editor.

Full Premium Rankings sit behind a FloSports login. Brackets, many notifications, and event hubs are free. The ranking list is the paid layer. That split only works if dual results actually land in Trackwrestling before Monday. A dual that stays on a clipboard until Tuesday is a wrestler who does not move.

WHAT FEEDS THE RANKINGS STACK

• Event software: Trackwrestling still holds season results for duals and tournaments.
• Monday job: The ranking model rebuilds from those results once a week.
• Five-match gate: A wrestler is eligible only after five bouts at a single weight.
• Paywall: The full Premium Rankings list requires a FloSports subscription.

NextGen is the public wrapper around that pipe. FloWrestling lists athlete profiles, rankings, scouting reports, notifications, and event tracking beside Scorekeeper. The fan-facing piece that Flo actually promoted on X in early September was scouting, not a table-worker app.

That is the tell. Parents are being sold lock-screen alerts and scouting reports. Coaches are being handed the data-entry tool those features read. If duals stay on paper, the scouting page is a week late and the Monday rank is a week stale.

MatBoss Already Sells This Export

Flo is late to the dual-export idea even if it is first to put a Flo-branded scorer on the App Store. MatBoss, a Minneapolis coaching suite that dates to 2014, already records the bout, scores it, and sends the card to Trackwrestling. Its Videostats plan advertises TrackWrestling integration at $699 a year, plus video and unlimited cloud storage. In a 2025 webinar, MatBoss staff said tournament bouts run on Trackwrestling update live, while duals and anything “not ran on Track” go over with one confirmed upload after the meet.

Flo tried a mobile scorer once before. In 2016 it partnered with LevelChanger on Takedown for FloArena, an iPad app meant to post folkstyle bouts into FloArena and drive a mat-side scoreboard. That product sat on the tournament side. Scorekeeper is aimed at the dual that never got a full Trackwrestling crew and a clock package.

WHERE DUAL RESULTS GO TODAY

MatBoss still owns the film-and-tag workflow that college and serious high school rooms buy. Scorekeeper does not claim video. It claims the last analog dual, the one a volunteer scored in a red book and a manager typed at 10 p.m. If that dual now lands in the same store as a state-tournament bout, Flo no longer waits on MatBoss, Takedown, or a tired coach to make Monday’s model honest.

What FloWrestling Scorekeeper Supports at Launch

FloWrestling Scorekeeper scores dual meets in Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco from a mobile device, with a practice mode, and it is available on the App Store. Individual tournaments and other formats are expected in the first month of the season. Flo did not list a price, an Android build, or a FloSports login rule for the scorer itself in the launch note.

Super 32 Early Entry events and the Waterway Duals sit on FloWrestling’s Sept. 12, 2026 slate. Those are the wrong test for a dual-only scorer. The test is the next Friday in a high school gym, when a coach either opens Scorekeeper or writes the 126-pound bout on paper and promises to enter it later. If that promise holds, Monday’s rankings stay only as current as the last person who sat down at a laptop.
