Hyderabad’s 8K Wall Outruns This Week’s Gadget Drop

Hyderabad’s 586.14 sq m 8K wall and a NTPC iron-air pilot sit inside an August gadget roundup that otherwise sells festive projectors.

Iconic by ONE VISION has switched on a 586.14 sq m L-shaped 8K wall at SAS iTower in Hyderabad, billed as India’s largest digital out-of-home screen. The same August roundup that logged that wall also logged a Chennai iron-air battery headed for NTPC Simhadri, plus a stack of festive gadgets.

The watches, the 200-inch projector and the wheeled karaoke speaker are priced for the holiday aisle. The wall and the battery are the items that still have a job after the sale ends.

How Big Is India’s New Outdoor Screen?

The Iconic wall at SAS iTower in Nanakramguda covers 586.14 sq m in one continuous L, about seven times Hyderabad’s previous largest digital outdoor screen and about the footprint of two basketball courts, or eight pickleball courts. Founder Abhinav Nagireddy called Hyderabad the firm’s biggest canvas yet, and said brands now want platforms that command attention rather than simple visibility.

Outdoor advertising in India is moving from visibility to impact. Brands want platforms that can command attention and create memorable experiences. Hyderabad is our biggest canvas yet, and it reflects the scale we want to bring to India’s DOOH ecosystem.

Abhinav Nagireddy, Founder, Iconic by ONE VISION

Trade copy for the launch put the average Indian DOOH face at about 20 ft by 10 ft, and Hyderabad’s prior large screen at 80 ft by 10 ft. The new L wraps a corner of the financial district tower and was already drawing crowds before the August press push.

THE WALL BEFORE THE PRESS DATE

  1. December 21, 2025: Absen posts the Hyderabad job as a 586.14 sq m L-shaped A25 wall with naked-eye 3D.
  2. February 2026: Iconic by Onevision publishes a walkthrough that lists the pixel map at 7632 x 1728 and calls the face 8K-equivalent.
  3. July 24, 2026: Salaar imagery runs on the tower, with fan accounts calling Prabhas the first Indian actor on that wall.
  4. August 7 to 13, 2026: Iconic stages the official unveil as India’s largest cinematic digital screen.
  5. August 12, 2026: The same facade lights in the tricolour ahead of Independence Day.

That sequence is the tell. The August launch was a media event for a wall that had already been used as a city canvas.

Glasses-Free 3D on an L-Shaped Wall

The face is Hyderabad’s first 8K DOOH screen and runs on Absen’s A25 Series outdoor LED panels, a low-power outdoor line the maker rates at under 1 kWh per sq m per day. Absen sells the series for spectaculars, billboards and transit, with curved-corner cabinets and glasses-free 3D video as the pitch, plus a 10-second module swap.

The A25 Series panel specification sheet lists the 4.44 mm cabinet at 7500 nits, a refresh of at least 7680 Hz, IP66 front and rear, and 16-bit grey scale. Brighter 7500/10000 nit options sit on the coarser pitches. Iconic has not said which pitch sits on SAS iTower, so the nit number for Hyderabad stays with the series, not with a measured reading on that corner.

Nagireddy’s firm was already in Bengaluru, Bhopal, Jaipur, Thiruvananthapuram and Bhubaneswar. Hyderabad is the sixth city, and Gurugram is listed for the end of 2026, with more states in 2027.

LANDMARK SCREENS BY AREA

Screen City Display area
Piccadilly Lights London about 780 sq m
Cloud 11 corner wall (Absen A25) Bangkok 729.9 sq m
Iconic by ONE VISION at SAS iTower Hyderabad 586.14 sq m
Shinjuku 3D cat Tokyo about 154 sq m

Hyderabad clears Tokyo’s famous cat and still sits behind Piccadilly and Absen’s own Bangkok corner. The Indian claim is national, not global, and the L-shape is doing as much work as the square metres, because anamorphic 3D needs a corner people can stand under.

Call It 8K Only Along the Width

Iconic’s walkthrough lists 7632 x 1728 pixels. That long edge is in 8K territory. The short edge is not. The honest label in the company’s own video is 8K-equivalent, a wide ribbon rather than a full 8K UHD panel. For a media wall that people watch from the road, the width is the axis that matters, and the 3D trick is the thing drivers actually stop for.

PwC’s Global Entertainment and Media Outlook, in its India cut for 2026 to 2030, put digital out-of-home ad revenue at 193 million USD in 2025 and 318.5 million USD in 2030. Digital’s share of Indian OOH spend was 34.5 percent in 2025 in that cut, heading for about 49 percent by 2030 as physical posters slip. A 586.14 sq m cinematic corner in the IT corridor is how a small media owner tries to sell into that shift: fewer faces, more spectacle, booked as a landmark rather than a 20 ft poster.

What Meine Electric Will Run at NTPC Simhadri

Chennai-based Meine Electric is taking an indigenous iron-air pack into a utility pilot at NTPC’s Simhadri thermal station in Andhra Pradesh, run through Atal Incubation Centre, Anna University, with Meine as technology partner. Co-founder and CEO Priyansh Mohan said the unit will be a multi-hundred kilowatt-hour system, with the install due early in 2027, and that the point is thermal flexibilisation in place of gas peaker plants.

The primary objective is to demonstrate thermal flexibilisation using our long duration batteries instead of the traditional gas peaker plants.

Priyansh Mohan, Co-Founder and CEO, Meine Electric

This is not the 100-hour iron-air cell Form Energy is building in the United States, and it is not Ore Energy’s European multi-day pack either. Meine calls itself the first iron-air LDES firm in APAC and the third globally, and it sells a daily cycle: charge in a solar window, discharge overnight. Its site for fast-charging iron-air batteries says the chemistry shrinks a 100-hour charge to 6 hours by reversing rust. Iron reacts with oxygen and water on discharge; the firm’s charge step turns that rust back into iron.

THE SIMHADRI PILOT IN BRIEF

  • The cycle: Fast Charge Long Discharge, a 6-hour charge and an 18-hour discharge, checked by Customized Energy Solutions, parent of the India Energy Storage Alliance.
  • The scale: A multi-hundred kilowatt-hour system, not a gigawatt-hour array, under confidentiality with NTPC.
  • The cost claim: Levelized storage below 0.05 USD per kWh (₹4 per kWh), as Meine has put it while arguing daily cycling beats lithium on long holds.
  • The plant: 5,500 sq ft in Chennai now, with a multi-hundred megawatt-hour per year factory targeted by the end of 2027.
  • The buyers: Mohan said about 70 percent of live talks are with private utilities and independent power producers, the rest with government firms, and that a first commercial order could be signed in the second half of 2027.

Kishore Kumar S, CEO of AIC-Anna Incubator, framed the Simhadri job as academia, a startup and a public generator sharing one grid problem. Until that pack has months of operational data, it remains a pilot. It still does not belong in the same shopping basket as a ₹799 power bank, which is why it sat so oddly in the gadget roundup.

GoBoult Doubles Down on Mustang Hardware

GoBoult, the Indian audio and wearables brand, added Stallion Ignite Gold and Stallion Nitro Ice to its official Ford Mustang line. Co-founder Varun Gupta said the first Stallion became the firm’s fastest-selling smartwatch and that the new pair doubles down on craft rather than the same three or four spec wars. Ignite Gold is the collector SKU, with a heritage-style bracelet, gilded rotating bezel and a regal crown. Nitro Ice is the white and purple edition.

Both watches use a 1.43-inch AMOLED face at 700 nits with always-on display, a working rotating bezel, Bluetooth 5.3 calling, more than 120 sports modes, up to seven days of runtime and IP67. The Stallion Nitro Ice product listing also lists 200-plus cloud faces, a tyre-tread crown language across the Stallion family, and an authenticity mark for the Mustang tie-up. Gupta’s own pitch names a metallic bracelet, speed-wheel ring, tyre-tread crown and ignition lever as the bits meant to feel like a luxury watch rather than a fitness slab.

STALLION LAUNCH PRICES

Model Launch price Finish
Stallion Ignite Gold ₹5,999 Black and gold flagship
Stallion Nitro Ice ₹4,999 White and purple

Those are special launch prices, not a Swiss workshop. The bet is that a licensed pony badge and a rotating ring still move units in a rack where every brand now ships AMOLED and a week of battery.

The Diwali Basket of Projectors and Party Speakers

XElectron priced the Techno Plus Android 14 smart home projector at ₹8,499, with native 1920×1080, 4K decode, a claimed 9000-lumen LED lamp, 5000:1 contrast, a 200-inch throw, auto keystone, a 180-degree rotate, dual-band WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, a bass speaker, 25 interface languages and a 50,000-hour lamp life. Managing director Gagan Sharma said the brief was a large picture without a large TV bill, with Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, JioHotstar, ZEE5 and SonyLIV on the box so a stick is optional. XElectron puts a 1-year warranty on the unit and dates its own run at 13 years. The 9000-lumen figure is the company’s LED rating, not an independent ANSI lab sheet, and that is how cheap home projectors are usually sold.

U&i, the accessories brand, added the CHILL Series wireless speaker (UiBS-5085) and the ARIAL Series power bank (UiPB-0333) for the festive window. Director Paresh Vij tied both to family gatherings and said the firm still wants feature-rich kit at reachable prices.

THE OTHER THREE SKUS

  • CHILL speaker: ₹7,349, 150W through an 8+8 driver set, built-in wheels, FM, AUX, TF, USB, TWS, a wireless mic and a remote.
  • ARIAL power bank: ₹799, 10,000mAh, 33W out, Type-C in/out plus dual USB, short-circuit, overpower, undervoltage and temperature cuts, in black or white.
  • Techno Plus projector: ₹8,499, native 1080p with 4K decode, 200-inch throw, Android 14 and the claimed 9000-lumen lamp.

TWS on the CHILL means two of the wheeled boxes can pair for stereo, which is the Diwali terrace use. The power bank is the stocking-stuffer end of the same aisle. None of these three changes a grid or a skyline. They are why the roundup looked like a gadget dump, and they are also why the wall and the battery were easy to miss.

Gurugram by Year End, Then More States

Iconic has Gurugram on the calendar before 2027 and more Indian states after that. If the Hyderabad L holds its crowds, the next wall is a copy of a format, not a one-off stunt: cinematic corners in cities that already have IT traffic, sold to brands that want a stop-and-look slot rather than a flyover poster.

Meine Electric is on a slower clock. Mohan said a full commercial iron-air order could be signed between the middle and the end of 2027, once the larger Chennai plant exists. Until Simhadri produces run-hours, the 6-hour charge remains a lab result with a utility address. The Stallion watches and the CHILL speaker will have done their festive season by then.

Every figure in an article carries its source and its date, and where a number comes from a vendor or an analyst model rather than a count, he says so plainly instead of letting it stand as established fact. What he leaves out is anything he could not verify himself, which on a beat full of unnamed supply chain claims removes a great deal. That standard applies across all the sections the site publishes for an international audience, from artificial intelligence and security to phones, computers, gaming, crypto and the software businesses depend on. He corrects errors in the open and labels them, because a site that hides its mistakes is asking readers to trust the rest on nothing.
