Rustfire Chassis Buffs Fusion Then Blocks It Anyway
Myriad Snare Rustfire Chassis walls Fusion at 40% RES, so Havoc Bane teams farm a fire echo that Fusion carries wear.
Myriad Snare: Rustfire Chassis in Wuthering Waves is a Cost-4 Overlord whose Echo feeds Fusion damage, while the boss itself holds 40% Fusion RES. Kuro Games put the Autopuppet in Mengzhou’s Western Fang Peaks with Version 3.5 on July 10, 2026. The flaming circular saw and the English name both sell a fire fight, and Fusion teams still walk into the one damage type this machine shrugs off.
You clear it with Havoc Bane, then socket the drop onto Jingran, the Fusion broadblade carry from Version 3.6 whose kit wants that main Echo. The loot and the kill do not share an element.
The Fire Echo Comes Off a Fusion Wall
The enemy archive files a ruined Autopuppet that used to cage Tacet Discords in the Skyworks and purge anything that crawled out. After that site fell, the chassis kept the job with half a body, a saw, and a claw on a chain. The English screen name leans on rust and fire. French, German, Spanish, and Thai titles instead call it a broken or shattered body, which is closer to what you actually fight.
Deep within the Skyworks, the Myriad Snare serves as a living prison for Tacet Discords, capable of transforming into a formidable Autopuppet to wipe them out.
Enemy archive, Wuthering Waves
Kuro’s Version 3.5 notes on Steam listed it among the new echoes for Mengzhou Land of Xuanfang, next to Lamp of Nether Road and Heart of Evil’s Purge, the two sonata sets this Overlord can roll. The Echo skill is Fusion damage that scales with Max HP. The boss sitting on the other side of the gate resists that same element at 40%, with the other listed types at 10%.
THE BOSS VERSUS THE ECHO
| Piece | What it does with Fusion | Number |
|---|---|---|
| World boss | Fusion RES | 40% |
| World boss | Other listed RES | 10% |
| Rank 5 Echo, main slot | Fusion DMG Bonus | 12% |
| Rank 5 Echo, main slot | Heavy Attack DMG Bonus | 12% |
| Rank 5 Echo skill | First hit, Fusion, Max HP | 10.20% |
| Rank 5 Echo skill | Path crushes, Fusion, Max HP | 0.37% up to 19 times |
| Echo | Cooldown | 20s |
A Rank 5 copy grants 12% Fusion DMG Bonus on the main slot plus 12% Heavy Attack DMG Bonus, then summons the chassis for that Max HP Fusion burst. Jingran wears it because his kit is HP, Fusion, and Heavy Attack. He is a poor guest in the arena that drops it.
Western Fang Peaks and the Green Holographic Gate
The overworld fight sits in Western Fang Peaks in Xuanfang, northwest of Xuanfang Hold. The road in is the Hundred-Span Corridor. Mengzhou: Land of Xuanfang opened with Chapter IV Act I, The Wind Before the Storm, and the region also includes Eastern Xuan Peaks and Southern Yuan Hills. A Nexus by the arena lets you teleport back once you have touched it.
Past the Nexus, a large green holographic gate marks the instance. The Expedition Motorbike can roll you through that gate and into the floor. Claiming a kill costs Waveplate ×60, the usual world-boss tax, and the possible pile includes Intimacy, Union EXP, a Sealed Tube, a Resonance Potion, an Energy Core, Solidarity’s Loneflame, a Standard Weapon Mold, and the Echo itself.
If the story route is still locked, the Guidebook’s Boss Challenge list can open the node early. That is how a lot of material farming starts before Act I is done. The same Fusion RES and Havoc Bane rules apply in Tower of Adversity and in the Endstate Matrix cycle that Version 3.5 started, so a sloppy overworld clear is a warning, not a separate fight.
The Saw and the Chain Hit in That Order
The chassis fights like a wreck that still remembers a script. The left arm slams the floor three times, and the third hit winds up longer and hits harder. The right side swings a ball-and-chain, the same claw-flail the model is built around. A shield-wheel can be parried. An extending grab stuns if it connects. When steam vents, it charges. A glowing area slam can knock you down. Sometimes the shield locks onto the chains for two ground swipes and a slam.
THE FLOOR PATTERN
- Triple slam: Left arm hits three times, with extra damage on the delayed third strike.
- Chain flail: Right arm throws the weighted claw in a wide arc.
- Shield-wheel: A spinning plate that can be parried if you time the counter.
- Arm grab: A long-range extend that stuns on contact.
- Steam charge: A sprint that starts when the vents blow.
- Glow slam: A bright area hit that can knock you off your feet.
The parry on the wheel is the one defensive check that actually changes the fight. Miss the grab or the third slam and the rest of the string becomes a scramble. Overworld HP is forgiving enough that a messy first kill still pays. The hologram copy of this pattern is where the same string stops being a tutorial.
What Havoc Bane Does to Rustfire Chassis
Havoc Bane is the lever the kit is written around. While the chassis is affected, it takes 5% more total damage for 30 seconds, and that penalty stacks up to 5 times. When those stacks are consumed, it takes 20% more total damage for 30 seconds. Those are two different triggers, not one combined multiplier, and they are why Fusion hypercarries feel stuck even before the 40% RES is applied.
HAVOC BANE ON THIS BOSS
- While affected: 5% more total damage for 30 seconds per stack.
- Stack cap: 5 stacks, which is 25% more total damage if you hold all five.
- On consume: 20% more total damage for 30 seconds.
- Who applies it: Yangyang: Xuanling and Chisa are the clean appliers used in common clears.
Yangyang: Xuanling is the Havoc sword Resonator Version 3.5 put on Voices on Azure Feathers. Chisa inflicts the same Bane and shows up in almost every published lineup for this node. Common teams pair Xuanling with Phrolova and Chisa, or run Chisa with Cartethyia and Ciaccona, or park Hiyuki and Lucilla next to Chisa. The through line is the Bane, not a Fusion name that matches the saw.
Older Havoc specialists have already taken Difficulty VI without that 3.5 banner pair, including clean solo clears, so the lock is the element tax and the floor pattern. You do not need two limited Havoc units to enter the room. You do need to stop feeding it Fusion.
46 Loneflame Copies per Level-90 Resonator
Solidarity’s Loneflame is the ascension chunk this boss exists to print. Level-90 lists for four Mengzhou-era Resonators each ask for 46 copies. Yangyang: Xuanling and Suisui, the Version 3.5 pair, both sit on that bill. Qingxiao and Jingran, the Version 3.6 Aero sword and Fusion broadblade, sit on it too. Building both 3.6 5-stars is 92 copies from this one gate, before weapons and Forte materials even start.
WHO TAKES THE LONEFLAME
| Resonator | Attribute in 3.5 / 3.6 notes | Loneflame to Lv 90 |
|---|---|---|
| Yangyang: Xuanling | Havoc / Sword | 46 |
| Suisui | Glacio / Rectifier | 46 |
| Qingxiao | Aero / Sword | 46 |
| Jingran | Fusion / Broadblade | 46 |
Qingxiao wants Heart of Evil’s Purge, the Aero sonata this Echo can roll. Jingran wants Lamp of Nether Road, the HP sonata that turns shields into Crit Rate and, at four stacks, 15% Fusion DMG Bonus. His published builds already lock Myriad Snare as the 4-cost main piece on a 44111 layout. The farm you run with Havoc Bane is the farm that dresses a Fusion carry who should not be in that arena.
Waveplates spent here are not only for a pretty Overlord. They are the Mengzhou ascension bottleneck for two patches of banner units, which is why the node stayed busy after the story beat in Chapter IV Act II, Xuanling Sings, Storm Quelled, where this Autopuppet first blocks the ridge.
Version 3.6 Dropped the Same Machine Into a Hologram
On August 20, 2026, Version 3.6, Lamplight in Mirage, Sword’s Resolve in Heart, added a Tactical Hologram Sparring challenge of the same chassis, plus a Phantom Echo you cannot get from the green gate. The hologram lives at Fogveil Pagoda in Eastern Xuan Peaks. Difficulty I is level 60. Difficulty VI is level 100. High difficulties add Prison Bound: when the machine is enraged, it loses HP each second and takes more Vibration Strength Reduction, so the enrage is a clock, not a second health bar you can ignore.
Kuro’s own account posted the Sparring update as the 3.6 combat test for this foe.
Tactical Hologram Update, Coming Soon!
[Tactical Hologram: Sparring] is a prime testing ground for combat prowess, where powerful foes abound. Get ready to challenge Tactical Hologram – Myriad Snare: Rustfire Chassis in Version 3.6!#WutheringWaves pic.twitter.com/09WMQcCOF8

The hologram is the fight that spilled into argument in late August. A movement skip that went around then uses Rover’s jump, a basic attack, and a grapple, then a Qingxiao dash to leave the floor string behind. Replies called that cheap. Other players called the hologram badly tuned and said you have to lock in or skip. Dedicated no-hit solos on Zani and Danjin at level 100 sat next to those complaints. The split is not about Fusion teams suddenly working. It is about whether you play the saw and the chain or you leave the floor.
THE TWO-PATCH CALENDAR
- July 10, 2026: Version 3.5 ships the world boss, the Echo, and Mengzhou: Land of Xuanfang.
- August 20, 2026: Version 3.6 adds the Sparring hologram and the Phantom Echo.
- August 22, 2026: Resonance Sim Realm opens, with the Phantom copy on the reward list.
- September 29, 2026: That event is scheduled to end at 11:59 server time.
The official event notice also lists a Phantom Echo in Resonance Sim Realm among Astrite x1200 and the usual premium pile. The overworld gate still prints Loneflame and the regular Overlord. The Phantom is the one copy the green hologram does not drop.
By the last week of September 2026, the chassis is no longer a story surprise. It is a Fusion wall with a Fusion-shaped prize, a 46-copy tax for four Resonators, and a hologram that people would rather skip than learn if Qingxiao is on the bench. The saw still looks like fire. The resistances never did.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where Is the Myriad Snare Rustfire Chassis Boss?
It is in Western Fang Peaks, and you can open the fight from the Guidebook’s Boss Challenge list before you finish Chapter IV Act I, The Wind Before the Storm, if the Mengzhou map is still closed on the story route.
Why Do Fusion Teams Struggle Against Rustfire Chassis?
The archive still files the Autopuppet under Fusion Enemies even though Fusion is the resisted type at 40%, so the category name and the combat modifier point in opposite directions and Fusion carries take the worse end of that split.
What Does the Rustfire Chassis Echo Skill Do?
Besides the Max HP Fusion hits, a copy can roll Heart of Evil’s Purge (2-piece Aero DMG +10%; 5-piece, inflicting Tune Strain – Shifting, Crit DMG +20% and Aero DMG +30% for 15s) or Lamp of Nether Road (2-piece HP +10%; 5-piece, shields grant 5% Crit Rate for 5s, max 4 stacks, every 0.5s, and 15% Fusion DMG Bonus at max stacks).
How Many Solidarity’s Loneflame Does Rustfire Chassis Farming Take?
Each listed Resonator wants 46 copies to reach level 90, and the Resonance of Battle trophy He Calls It Release pays 10 Astrite for 50 defeats on this boss, which is a side goal on the same Waveplate route.
Where Is the Rustfire Chassis Tactical Hologram?
Fogveil Pagoda in Eastern Xuan Peaks hosts it next to Denia; first clear of any Sparring difficulty awards Unstoppable Bladewheel (5 Astrite), and first clear of Difficulty VI awards Burning to the End (20 Astrite).
