Pixel 11 Leak: 256GB Base Storage and €100 Price Hike for Every Model
Google’s Pixel 11 leak confirms 256GB as the new base storage and €100 price hikes across every European model, with the Pro Fold crossing €2,000.
Google has confirmed the date for its next Pixel launch. The company is hosting its next Made by Google event on August 12, 2026, at 6 p.m. ET in New York City, after sending media invites this week. The Verge obtained the pixel 11 launch event invitation directly. Hours before that news dropped, a Dealabs leak laid out what Google is expected to charge for the four phones it plans to put on stage.
The Pixel 11 starts at €999 for the new 256GB base in Europe. The Pixel 11 Pro XL opens at €1,399. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold lands at €1,999 for the entry storage. Every model is up about €100 on last year’s Pixel 10 lineup.
Google Drops the 128GB Tier
The headline change is at the bottom of the storage ladder. Per the pixel 11 storage and price leak from Android Authority, Google is eliminating the 128GB tier across the entire Pixel 11 family. Every phone now starts at 256GB.
The Pro models gain a new 1TB option, but the largest capacity comes with a constraint. The 1TB version of the Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold ships only in Midnight Haze, the new black. The standard Pixel 11 tops out at 512GB. Apple and Samsung have already moved their own flagships to a 256GB floor.
Google joining the move is overdue rather than surprising. Storage demands keep climbing as photos, 4K video, and on-device AI features push toward more gigabytes. The Pixel 10 shipped in 2025 with 128GB as its base. Apple’s and Samsung’s flagships already start at 256GB or higher. The 256GB base on the Pixel 11 brings Google in line with where Apple’s and Samsung’s flagships already sit.
- Pixel 11: 256GB, 512GB
- Pixel 11 Pro: 256GB, 512GB, 1TB
- Pixel 11 Pro XL: 256GB, 512GB, 1TB
- Pixel 11 Pro Fold: 256GB, 512GB, 1TB

What the New Pixel 11 Lineup Will Cost
European prices are up about €100 across the lineup, according to the Dealabs report. The comparison is uneven for the standard Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro, because their new 256GB base replaces last year’s 128GB base. The Pro XL and Pro Fold face straight price increases, since their starting storage was already 256GB on the Pixel 10 generation. The base Pixel 10 last year opened at €899 in Europe and $799 in the US.
For comparison, the Pixel 10 Pro started at €1,099 in Europe and $999 in the US for 128GB. The Pixel 10 Pro XL opened at €1,299 in Europe with 256GB. UK pricing for the Pixel 11 lineup, per the same leak, runs from £879 on the standard model to £2,149 on the top-spec Pro Fold.
| Model | 256GB | 512GB | 1TB |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pixel 11 | €999 | €1,129 | N/A |
| Pixel 11 Pro | €1,199 | €1,329 | €1,589 |
| Pixel 11 Pro XL | €1,399 | €1,529 | €1,789 |
| Pixel 11 Pro Fold | €1,999 | €2,129 | €2,389 |
The Color Palette, Phone by Phone
The standard Pixel 11 comes in four colors. The Pro and Pro XL share a different four-color lineup, and the Fold drops back to two.
For the base Pixel 11, the lineup is Light Sterling (gray), Midnight Haze (black), Fuchsia (pink), and Moss (green). The Pro and Pro XL shift to Light Fog (white), Midnight Haze (black), Dune (pink), and Pine (green). The Fold drops to just two finishes. None of the leaked lists include a gold option.
Google’s August 12 invitation includes a brief animation teasing what appears to be a gold phone in the Pixel 11 family, per The Verge. The color is not on any leaked list yet. That suggests the invite is either teasing a fifth finish or showing one of the existing shades under unusual lighting.
- Pixel 11: Light Sterling, Midnight Haze, Fuchsia, Moss
- Pixel 11 Pro / Pro XL: Light Fog, Midnight Haze, Dune, Pine
- Pixel 11 Pro Fold: Midnight Haze, Pine
The Memory Crunch Behind the Sticker Shock
Google is not raising prices in a vacuum. The same memory chip shortage that lifted DRAM and NAND prices through 2025 has pushed the bill of materials on Android phones up, per Counterpoint Research. Counterpoint forecasts a 6.9% jump in global smartphone average selling prices in 2026, up from its previous 3.6% outlook. The same note cut its 2026 shipment forecast to -2.1%, from a flat-to-positive view.
DRAM has been reallocated toward AI data centers building out Nvidia systems, per Counterpoint’s memory chip shortage raising phone prices. The mid- and high-end smartphone bill of materials has risen 10% to 15% since the start of 2025. Memory prices could climb another 40% through Q2 2026.
Apple and Samsung are best positioned to weather the next few quarters, per Counterpoint. Google and the rest of the Android field lack the same wiggle room on memory pricing. Per Counterpoint research director MS Hwang, that gap will “play out especially” with Chinese smartphone makers in the mid-to-lower end of the market. The Pixel 11 launch lands squarely inside that pressure band.
Apple and Samsung are best positioned to weather the next few quarters. But it will be tough for others that don’t have as much wiggle room to manage market share versus profit margins.
The Pixel 11 base storage jumps from 128GB to 256GB. Memory prices climbed throughout 2025, per Counterpoint. The €1,399 Pro XL starting price sits €100 above the €1,299 Pixel 10 Pro XL that shipped last August.
Tensor G6 Lands on TSMC’s 2nm Node
The chip story for the Pixel 11 is the Tensor G6, which moves to TSMC’s 2nm process. That is a step up from the 3nm Tensor G5 that powered the Pixel 10. The Tensor G6 is one of the first smartphone SoCs on the 2nm node, according to the tensor g6 and pixel 11 spec leak from 9to5Google. The silicon pairs with a new TPU and a new GXP image signal processor.
The Tensor G6 uses a 1+4+2 CPU configuration with newer ARM C1 cores, a PowerVR C-Series GPU, Google’s Titan M3 security chip, and a MediaTek M90 modem. The modem swap is notable: Google is dropping the Samsung Exynos modem it had used in earlier Pixels. The MediaTek M90 modem replaces the Exynos silicon Google had used since the original Tensor.
Display sizes hold steady from the Pixel 10 generation. The standard Pixel 11 keeps a 6.3-inch OLED at up to 2,200 nits. The Pro and Pro XL move to 6.3-inch and 6.8-inch LTPO panels at up to 2,450 nits. The Pro Fold pairs a 6.3-inch outer screen with an 8-inch inner display at up to 2,450 nits on the cover panel.
What Google Hasn’t Confirmed Yet
None of the Pixel 11 prices, colors, or storage tiers are official yet. The Dealabs figures, repeated by Android Authority and Android Central, are leaks, not a Google filing. US pricing has not surfaced in the same detail as the European grid, and Google has not signaled how it plans to absorb the new memory cost on its home turf.
Pre-orders are expected to open on August 12, with retail availability from August 20, according to Android Central. Google’s only confirmed pieces so far are the date, the venue, the 6 p.m. ET start time, and the golden teaser in the invitation. Counterpoint’s own models flag another 8% to 15% of bill-of-materials pressure through Q2 2026, which would push landed numbers higher than what the leak now suggests. The full picture arrives when Google takes the New York stage.
