Robinhood Prices XRP Into a Two-Cent 9 a.m. Bet
Robinhood’s 9 a.m. EDT XRP contracts price a two-cent pocket: 98 cents that $1.40 holds, 2 cents that $1.42 prints.
Robinhood’s XRP contracts for 9 a.m. Eastern on September 7, 2026, trade at 98¢ on $1.39991 or above and 2¢ on $1.41991. TwelveData last showed XRP at $1.39840 at 11:44 a.m. UTC, after an open of $1.42250, a 1.69% fade on the daily print.
That spread is two cents wide. The Yes on $1.40 is almost fully priced in. The Yes on $1.42 is a leftover ticket.
Traders Pay 98 Cents That $1.40 Holds
The live 9 a.m. EDT strike board is a stack of yes-or-no claims on where Ripple’s token sits at one clock time. A correct Yes pays $1. Traders can also sell before the print. Robinhood Derivatives, LLC routes the contracts through KalshiEX LLC, ForecastEX, LLC, or Rothera Exchange and Clearing LLC.
THE 9 A.M. STRIKE BOARD
| Strike | Yes price | What Yes needs at 9 a.m. EDT |
|---|---|---|
| $1.33991 or above | 97¢ | 60-second CF average at or above $1.33991 |
| $1.39991 or above | 98¢ | 60-second CF average at or above $1.39991 |
| $1.41991 or above | 2¢ | 60-second CF average at or above $1.41991 |
The $1.34 line should be the easy one, and it still costs 97¢. The $1.40 line costs a penny more on this board, which is a reminder the quotes can lag. Robinhood says live figures are for information only and may be delayed or wrong. Lower strikes from the same event, including $0.65991 and $0.67991, sat at 0¢ on the earlier tape, which is another way of saying nobody is selling a crash into the 60-cent zone into this print.
Hours run around the clock, except Thursday from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. ET. Payout is usually within one hour of resolution. Staff at the source agencies, and anyone holding material non-public information on the underlying, are barred from trading the contract.
The Morning Fade From a $1.42 Open
TwelveData’s September 7 row opened XRP at $1.42250 and last showed $1.39840. That path walks straight through the two live strikes: the open cleared $1.42, then the tape slipped back under it and sat on $1.40. CoinGecko put the token’s market value at $89.26 billion on September 7, with $1.46 billion in 24-hour volume, so this is not a thin print looking for a home.
Public XRP talk still treats $1.40 as a launch pad. The listed book does not. A hold above $1.40 is 98 cents. A push through $1.42 is 2 cents. The wager is that the morning dip sticks in a pocket, not that a new leg starts before 9 a.m.
On the same morning Robinhood also listed a 15-minute window, 7:30 to 7:45 a.m. EDT, asking whether the 60-second average before 7:45 a.m. would sit at $1.3990 or above. That Yes was 50¢. Seventy-five minutes before the 9 a.m. event, $1.40 was a coin flip. By the time the longer contract showed 98¢, spot had stopped falling through the line.
What the 9 a.m. XRP Contract Settles On
Coinbase, Google, or any phone widget can be wrong for this payout. The event uses CF Benchmarks’ once-a-second XRP-Dollar index, ticker XRPUSD_RTI, Bloomberg XRPUSDRT. The board takes a simple average of that index for the 60 seconds before 9 a.m. EDT. The average has to meet the strike at that exact time on September 7. Incomplete or missing data sends affected strikes to No.
HOW THE PRINT IS BUILT
- The clock: The average covers the 60 seconds before 9 a.m. EDT on September 7, 2026, not a daily close and not a random exchange last price.
- The index: XRPUSD_RTI is published about every second, including weekends, from a consolidated order book rather than from matched trades alone.
- The books: CME Group’s benchmark FAQ lists Bitstamp, Coinbase, Kraken and LMAX as the XRP contributors.
- The fail case: If the index is missing or incomplete at expiration, those strikes resolve to No, so a dead feed does not pay the Yes.
The index is a UK BMR registered benchmark. CF Benchmarks describes it as an aggregate of XRP-USD order data from exchanges that meet its rules, calculated every second. CME’s FAQ puts the method in one sentence.
CME CF Cryptocurrency Real-Time Indices aggregate global demand to buy and sell specific cryptocurrencies into a separate consolidated order book that reflects the fair, instantaneous U.S. dollar price of the respective cryptocurrency.

The 15-minute cousin of this contract rounds that 60-second average to four decimal places. The 9 a.m. page points readers to the Ripple event contract terms for the full rule set, including the same CF index and the same one-hour payout window.
August ETF Money and the $1.40 Floor
Three weeks before this print, XRP was still a dollar coin. TwelveData closed it at $1.00 on August 17, after an August 16 close of $0.99. By August 22 the high was $1.70, a 70% run from that $1.00 close, before the token spent the next two weeks leaking back toward $1.40.
FROM A DOLLAR TO $1.70 AND BACK
- August 17, 2026: XRP closes at $1.00 on TwelveData, still stuck on the round number it had defended for days.
- August 19-21, 2026: The tape leaves $1.00. Closes move to $1.11, then $1.27, then $1.46 as spot XRP ETFs start taking in money again.
- August 22, 2026: Intraday high $1.70, close $1.46. The spike is the high-water mark of the move, not a new base.
- Week ending August 28, 2026: SoSoValue records $110.49 million of net inflows into spot XRP ETFs, the strongest week of 2026 for those funds.
- August 2026: SoSoValue’s monthly total reaches $153.55 million. Cumulative net inflows since the products launched sit near $1.66 billion, with Bitwise still the largest vehicle at about $600 million.
- September 7, 2026: TwelveData last prints $1.39840 after a $1.42250 open. The 9 a.m. book treats $1.40 as the live line and $1.42 as a miss.
That path is why $1.34 is 97¢ and why $0.66 is worthless on this event. The crash strikes are dead because the August bid, clumsy as the after-spike fade has been, never gave the dollar back. The $1.42 strike is cheap because the $1.70 print did not hold and the open on September 7 already failed to keep $1.42 on the tape.
Why Robinhood’s Event Book Beats Its Crypto Desk
This 9 a.m. strip is a small slice of a product line that now pays Robinhood more than crypto trading. The company’s second-quarter 2026 earnings deck shows $156 million in event-contract revenue, including $17 million from Rothera. Crypto trading brought in $100 million. Equities brought in $129 million. Options still led the trading stack at $342 million. Total net revenue was $1.31 billion.
ROBINHOOD Q2 2026 TRADING LINES
- Event contracts: $156 million of revenue on 13.6 billion contracts, more than ten times the year-earlier quarter.
- Rothera’s cut: $17 million of that event total sits on the venue Robinhood owns with Susquehanna.
- Crypto trading: $100 million, below event contracts for the quarter.
- Contract size: Each event contract steps in 1-cent increments up to $1 and is worth $1 at settlement.
Robinhood added XRP and BNB binaries in July 2026, then stacked 15-minute windows next to the daily clocks. The 9 a.m. XRP board is that machine running on a Monday, not a one-off novelty. Event contracts launched in the fourth quarter of 2024. By mid-2026 they were the second trading line, and they were already larger than the crypto desk that used to be the firm’s headline bet on digital assets.
Three Weeks Ago This Desk Bet a Dollar
On August 17 the same product family was still asking whether XRP could hold $1. The earlier 96-cent bet on the dollar sat on a 1 a.m. EDT clock, with Yes almost fully priced because spot was already hugging $1. That board was a referendum on a round number the token had been unable to leave.
Twenty-one days later the round number is $1.40, and the scarecrow is $1.42. The structure did not change. A near-certain Yes on the line underneath spot, a near-zero Yes two cents higher, and an index most app users never open. What changed is the level, after ETF inflows finally showed up in the back half of August and after XRP near $1 before August stopped being the working price.
The public timeline still sells overnight repricings. The listed 9 a.m. book does not. A two-cent pop to $1.42 is 2 cents. A hold at $1.40 is 98 cents. That is the bet, and it is a much colder read than the $1.70 spike from August 22.
A Coin-Flip Window at 7:45 a.m.
The 7:30-7:45 a.m. EDT contract on $1.3990 priced a 50¢ Yes, which is the market saying it did not know whether the average before 7:45 a.m. would clear $1.40. The 9 a.m. contract on $1.39991 later showed 98¢. Same token, same index family, same 60-second average, different clock. Once the dip stopped making new lows under $1.40, the longer bet stopped looking like a 50/50 and started looking like a lock.
The $1.41991 Yes stayed at 2 cents through that whole move. Spot had already traded $1.42 at the open and could not keep it. Traders who wanted a bounce had a cheap ticket and did not lift it. Correct contracts still pay $1, usually within an hour of the 9 a.m. print, and the two-cent wall is the whole story the board is willing to tell.

It is not investment advice, trading advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell XRP, Robinhood stock, or any yes-or-no contract. Readers should consult a licensed financial advisor or futures broker who can review their own accounts before placing trades, because event contracts can expire worthless and crypto prices move without notice.
