Faithful Heart Tested at Skyfall is one of three exploration quests in Wuthering Waves 3.5, set in the new Mengzhou: Land of Xuanfang region. The quest pairs Rover with Danjin to investigate a malfunction at the Skyworks Autopuppet factory in the Western Fang Peaks. Completing it earns Astrite, a new Phantom Echo, and a Danjin avatar.

How to Unlock Faithful Heart Tested at Skyfall

Faithful Heart Tested at Skyfall is gated behind the second story act of Chapter IV. Players who have not cleared Main Quest Chapter IV Act II, ‘Xuanling Sings, Storm Quelled,’ cannot see the quest in their log. The Version 3.5 official maintenance and content preview lists the exploration quest with the Chapter IV Act II prerequisite attached, and the quest auto-tracks once the story beat finishes.

Head to Goldsong Woods in the Western Fang Peaks area of Mengzhou after the quest appears. An injured Midnight Ranger stands near the marker, and she asks the player for help investigating the Skyworks malfunction. Speak with her, then interact with the Rogue Autopuppet positioned right next to Danjin. The companion mission is now live, and the next step is a motorbike ride into the factory. Main Quest Chapter IV Act II was added with the 3.5 update, so players who have not yet reached that point in the story will need to clear the earlier acts first. The story act ‘Xuanling Sings, Storm Quelled’ sets up the Mengzhou narrative that the exploration quests take place inside.

  1. Complete Main Quest Chapter IV Act II, “Xuanling Sings, Storm Quelled”
  2. Track Faithful Heart Tested at Skyfall from the quest tab
  3. Travel to Goldsong Woods in the Western Fang Peaks
  4. Talk to the injured Midnight Ranger NPC
  5. Interact with the Rogue Autopuppet next to Danjin

Riding to Skyworks and the Claw Hand

Once the quest begins, hop on the motorbike with Danjin and ride into Skyworks. The factory sits deep in the Western Fang Peaks and serves as the Autopuppet production facility for the Mengzhou region. A mob is waiting just outside the entrance.

Defeat the enemies, then board the first elevator. At the top, look for the claw hand structure and use the nearby Skyflow Lines to phase through the barrier. The Skyflow Line is the same tether network used elsewhere in Mengzhou, so anyone who has explored the region before will recognize the mechanic. Once through, board a second elevator and ride up to the next platform.

The platform’s edge opens over a gap that cannot be crossed by running. The game instructs the player to wait for Zhongxu, a small combat support Autopuppet that fights alongside the player for this quest. When Zhongxu launches a set of spikes into the gap, the player can grapple across to the other side using one of the embedded spikes. The motion turns the path from impassable into a single-file bridge. Reach the upper area, where the Zhongxu tuning sequence begins.

Zhongxu is a temporary companion for this mission only. The quest does not add the unit to the player’s roster or the Echo system, and it leaves the party after the final boss. That distinction matters for players who might confuse the helper with the new 3.5 World Bosses added in the same update. Skyworks itself is built into a mountainside, with the production floor buried several levels below the entrance and the conveyor lines threading between the cliffs.

The Zhongxu Autopuppet Sequence

Approach Zhongxu and interact with the unit. The interaction opens a system panel on the screen with a single glowing button. Press the button repeatedly until the autopuppet boots up. Once active, Zhongxu can attack enemies, solve puzzles, and break obstacles.

Take the lift down to the lower level. Follow the quest navigation forward and use the Skyflow Line to keep moving. The path opens into the Thousandfold Foundry: Assembly Bay, a large industrial chamber that the next phase of the quest takes place in. The bay is the area’s first major combat encounter, with multiple enemy waves and a wide arena that benefits from Zhongxu’s AoE skill.

Use Zhongxu’s skill liberally while clearing the mobs. The skill hits a wide radius, which is essential for finishing the waves quickly. Once the bay is clear, the next mechanic unlocks: the Earthpull Lever and the Earthwaking Drum. Zhongxu is the combat helper the quest relies on for the foundry section, so the rest of the run is balanced around the player’s use of its skill. Burning through the helper’s skill off cooldown keeps the Assembly Bay waves short and lets the player move on to the next phase faster.

Accompanied by Danjin, Rover investigates a malfunction at Skyworks, a factory which handles the production of Autopuppets.

Game8’s Faithful Heart Tested at Skyfall quest page uses that framing.

Solving the Earthpull Lever Puzzles

After the Assembly Bay clears, locate the Earthpull Lever and pull it. The lever drops a barrier, and striking the Earthwaking Drum three times disables it. The third strike also swaps the camera over to Danjin for a brief sequence, giving the player a cutscene from her point of view.

Wait for the elevator to descend and clear the next set of mobs. Use the Skyflow Line again to reach Zhongxu’s location. Another Earthpull Lever sits near a sealed gate, and pulling it triggers a cutscene. Once the cutscene ends, the path opens and the player is asked to break down debris blocking the way. Most of the obstacles in the chamber can be destroyed with normal attacks or Zhongxu’s skill.

Grab the Mountainpin Cable from the wall and throw it at the glowing target on the other side. Hitting the target activates a zipline, which leads to the next platform. From this point, the foundry’s layout funnels the player through a series of sprint sections and small mob waves.

Each sprint section is interrupted by enemy waves, and clearing them is required to advance. The final Earthpull Lever in the foundry changes the environment slightly, and the player must then strike the drum again to help the autopuppet finish its task. After the battle ends, interact with Zhongxu to continue the quest. The next stage moves the player out of the foundry and into the open air. The Earthpull Lever and Earthwaking Drum pairing shows up throughout the foundry section, and most other Earthwaking Drums in the Mengzhou region follow a similar three-strike rule. Players who have already explored Mengzhou’s open world will recognize the pattern, which makes the foundry section quick to clear on a second run.

The Xuan Crane and the Rustfire Chassis

Exit the foundry by following the navigation marker. Hold the sprint button while moving forward, since the sprint protects the player from incoming explosives that fire as the path opens. The path leads to an open area with a Xuan crane circling overhead. Dodge the crane’s dive attack, then defeat the Tacet Discords that spawn around it.

Pick up the spikes on the ground and throw them at the enemies and barrels nearby to assist Danjin, who is fighting on a separate platform. Move to the next quest location and clear the enemies there as well. Then go to the marked spot, pick up a larger spike, and use it to strike the Xuan Crane. Mash the Normal Attack button to finish the crane off. After the crane is down, use the zipline to return to the Skyworks interior.

The Skyworks’ final chamber holds the Myriad Snare: Rustfire Chassis, a new 3.5 World Boss added in the same update. The boss is an Autopuppet machine armed with a flaming circular saw and a claw-flail, and the release and moveset page for the boss lists both weapons in its profile. Defeat it using Rover and Danjin. The quest notes that Zhongxu is expected to lose this fight, but the player can still win with the two-man squad. The fight plays out in a wide chamber with a moving conveyor and overhead claw-flail hazards that keep the player on the move while chipping away at the boss’s health bar.

From the Boss Back to the Overworld

After the boss falls, interact with Zhongxu. The interaction triggers a maze-like sequence where a phantom guides the player forward. Follow the phantom and destroy the obstacles in the way. The maze ends at the top of a long staircase.

At the top of the stairs, the only attack that works on the surrounding nodes is a plunging attack. Spam plunging attacks to clear the room. The next chamber holds a system board with red blocks scattered across it. Destroy every red block to stop the reset timer. The mechanic is a small puzzle that can take two or three attempts to clear if the player does not know which blocks to target first.

After the system board, the camera shifts and the player must move right until Danjin appears on the screen. Spam the Normal Attack button while she is in frame. The sequence triggers a final cutscene and a photo prompt. Take the picture when the prompt appears, since the snapshot saves to the player’s gallery as a quest memento. The cutscene that follows frames the photo as a record of the investigation, and skipping the prompt closes the sequence without saving the snapshot. The cutscene wraps up the Skyworks investigation and transitions the player back to Mengzhou’s overworld.

Return to Shaftpost Yard and speak with Danjin. The conversation marks the end of the Faithful Heart Tested at Skyfall exploration quest. A Wavesline message from Danjin arrives in the inbox shortly after, which triggers Faithful Heart Tested at Skyfall: Epilogue. The epilogue is short and only requires speaking with Danjin again to finish.

Claiming the Quest Rewards

Finishing Faithful Heart Tested at Skyfall pays out a small but useful bundle of resources. The bundle covers the standard mix of currency, upgrade materials, and an Echo that the 3.5 update adds to the pool. None of the items is Resonator-locked, so the bundle is worth clearing for any account.

Players who want to maximize their 3.5 launch should clear the exploration quest alongside the other two 3.5 exploration quests, Code Red: Corehazard and Autopuppets in Fog Veiled Chambers. The three bundles together cover the same routine upgrade costs that a typical exploration quest provides. The bundle also adds to the patch’s free reward pool that runs across all of 3.5. The standout is the Phantom: Forbidden Bastion, one of the new Echoes added in the 3.5 update, and the 100 Astrite is small relative to a banner pull but stacks with the rest of the patch’s free handouts.

  • Astrite x100
  • Phantom: Forbidden Bastion
  • Danjin avatar
  • Advanced Sealed Tube x3
  • Shell Credit x30000
