PlayStation Lists GTA 6 Cheaper Than Xbox in Indonesia

PlayStation Store Indonesia has listed Grand Theft Auto VI at Rp1,190,000 ($66.20) for the Standard Edition, with the Ultimate Edition at Rp1,490,000. Pre-orders opened at midnight local time on 25 June 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, ahead of the 19 November 2026 launch.

The rupiah tags are Sony’s regional price, not a special Rockstar cut for Indonesia, and they sit beside a harder fact: the boxed copy is a download code, so launch day is a storefront and bandwidth event.

PlayStation Store Indonesia Lists GTA 6 in Rupiah

The Indonesia PlayStation Store still shows both editions as PS5 pre-orders, labelled English/Chinese/Korean Ver. That is the SKU Indonesian PSN accounts are being sold, and it is why a local listing can undercut the US dollar sticker without changing the game Rockstar is shipping.

The Standard Edition at Rp1,190,000 is the number local coverage treated as a relief. Converted at the June 2026 rates used in regional store comparisons, it is $66.20, which is $13.79 below the US Standard price of $79.99. The Ultimate Edition converts to $82.88 against the US $99.99 tag.

Rockstar’s own newswire on 24 June 2026 called Grand Theft Auto VI a single-player experience on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and it attached the Vintage Vice City Pack to all pre-orders and bonus pack for purchases before 20 November. Digital pre-orders also pick up one month of GTA+. The Indonesia store’s Rp119,000 monthly rate is what that membership costs once the free month ends.

Rp1.19 Million Ranks Fourth Among Major Regions

Indonesia is cheap only if the comparison is other PlayStation Storefronts, not if the comparison is a local paycheck. South Korea, Japan, and India still undercut Jakarta on the same Standard Edition, and Singapore and Malaysia sit above the US dollar price.

STANDARD EDITION PRICES BY STOREFRONT

Thailand’s Standard Edition is THB 2,690, or $80.47 at the same June conversions, and Hong Kong is HKD 568, or $72.45. Israel’s ILS 319 listing converts to $106.88, the high end of that board. The Indonesia price is a mid-Asia regional tag, not the cheapest seat in the house.

Wage math against South Korea’s ₩89,800 listing is the test Indonesian players actually run. A Korean salary that clears that price many times over does not map onto a 2.5 million rupiah paycheck facing Rp1,190,000, even if the dollar column calls Jakarta a bargain.

The Xbox Price Gap Inside Indonesia

When pre-orders opened on 25 June 2026, Microsoft Store pages for Xbox Series X and Series S still showed the US stickers of $79.99 and $99.99 rather than a rupiah regional price. In those first hours the Indonesia Xbox pre-order button was not live, so the cheap story that day was a PlayStation Store story.

Rockstar’s support pages send console buyers to PlayStation Store, the Xbox store listing for Grand Theft Auto VI, and the Rockstar Store. The two console shops did not open Indonesia on equal footing. Sony put a local-currency number on the screen. Microsoft left the dollar price in place.

That split decides who captured the first wave of Indonesian pre-orders. PS5 owners could clear a rupiah checkout on day one. Xbox owners were looking at the US tag, and at a button that had not switched on yet. The game is the same Jason and Lucia story either way. The till is not.

The Boxed Copy Is a Download Code

Rockstar is still selling a physical version. It ships from 12 November 2026 so buyers can redeem a code and start the same pre-load window as digital purchases. The company is plain about what is missing.

The physical version of Grand Theft Auto VI, containing a download code inside the box, will be available starting November 12 to support pre-loading.

Support copy adds that a disc will not be included in the box. There is no Blu-ray to install from, no offline fallback if the code fails, and no copy you can lend that plays without the buyer’s account. A code in a case is a license with cover art. It cannot be resold as a working disc because there is no disc.

The physical SKU is Standard Edition only. There is no boxed Ultimate Edition. Standard owners can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade from PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store after the code is redeemed. Digital pre-orders get the Vintage Vice City Pack plus one month of GTA+. Physical pre-orders get the pack, not the GTA+ month.

Rockstar has not published an install size. Pre-load still opens a week before launch, which is the company’s way of saying the download is large enough that waiting until 19 November is a bad plan, including for anyone who thought a box would spare them the wait.

What the Standard and Ultimate Editions Include

Standard is the full single-player game. Rockstar’s official site frames it around Vice City, USA, and the state of Leonida, where Jason and Lucia take a score that goes wrong and have to rely on each other. Ultimate is that game plus a stack of extras the studio says are “threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia’s story,” with new items opening behind each chapter. Owners can add that stack later; they do not have to pre-order Ultimate to finish the story.

WHAT THE ULTIMATE EDITION ADDS

• Cars and a boat: a ’95 Grotti Cheetah, a ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy with a garage, Jason’s safehouse vehicles, a Ganado retro build, and a Shitzu Squalo.
• Weapons: Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers and personalized weapon variants.
• Shops and looks: Rideout Customs, One-Eyed Willie’s, Sara’s Unisex Salon, Electric Fang Tattoo Parlor, Stock 305 Clothing, Goodtime Gear, and Vice City styles.
• Story extras: the PTT Youngin$ Compound and the Classic Car Collection, plus the base game.

Every edition that qualifies for the pre-order window also gets the Vintage Vice City Pack: a ’55 Vapid Stanier sedan and garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern. Rockstar described the pack as items that flash back to “when the neon burned brightest.” It is a cosmetics bundle, not extra story missions, and it is the same pack on Standard and Ultimate.

PlayStation Codes Stay Inside Rest of Asia

The cheap Indonesian listing only works on the right PlayStation account. Rockstar says code redemptions follow the region on the platform account, and it groups PlayStation codes into buckets. Indonesia sits in Rest of Asia with Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand. Korea is its own bucket. Japan is its own bucket. Brazil, North America, and the United Kingdom are separate too.

Buy a Standard Edition priced for South Korea or Japan and an Indonesian PSN account may not be able to redeem it. Shop the other way and a Singapore account in the same Rest of Asia group can use an Indonesian code, which is the grey-market pressure built into Sony’s map. Rockstar’s advice is blunt: buy from a retailer in the country of the platform account.

Xbox codes are not region-locked, per the same support page. A boxed Xbox copy is still a download, but the code is easier to move across borders than a PlayStation slip. Japan is the only territory Rockstar flags with a clock: PlayStation product codes there expire 170 days after the 19 November 2026 issuance date, under regional rules. Indonesia is not on that clock.

A Week of Downloads Before Launch Day

The dates are now fixed even if the file size is not. Digital pre-load begins at local midnight on 12 November 2026. Boxed codes can be redeemed as soon as they arrive, and those copies are due at retail the same day so a redeemed code can start downloading before the game unlocks. Everyone starts on 19 November. There is no early access for Ultimate buyers.

THE GTA 6 PRE-ORDER CALENDAR

1. 24 June 2026: Rockstar posts edition prices, the Vintage Vice City Pack, and the code-in-box physical plan.
2. 25 June 2026: Pre-orders open at midnight local time on PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, the Rockstar Store, and selected retailers.
3. 12 November 2026: Digital pre-load begins at local midnight, and boxed codes are due in shops.
4. 19 November 2026: Grand Theft Auto VI unlocks on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
5. 20 November 2026: Last day Rockstar counts a purchase toward the Vintage Vice City Pack.

A PC date is still missing. Rockstar’s platform list is PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and support copy does not name a computer SKU. Console stores therefore take the entire first sale, and Indonesian buyers who wanted a disc, a PC build, or an Indonesian-language storefront are choosing among those console downloads instead.

The Indonesia PlayStation price will keep looking kind next to $79.99. It is still Rp1,190,000 for a license that has to finish downloading by 19 November, on a storefront that already picked the language pack for you.
