India Still Has No OnePlus 15s After China 15T

Tipster Yogesh Brar said on June 18 that the OnePlus 15s is not launching in India, six months after China got the same compact phone as the 15T. OnePlus has never posted a kill notice. Indian stores still do not list the 15s.

The brand told India in July it would keep selling phones there after it stopped new launches in Europe and North America. The small flagship that market actually received last year, as the 13s, is the SKU that did not come back.

China Already Sells the Phone India Was Promised

OnePlus unveiled the 15T in China on March 24, 2026, and put it on sale the next morning at 10:00 local time through Oppo’s store. It is the follow-up to last year’s 13T, the China phone that India later received as the 13s in June 2025.

The China product page for the 15T sells that pitch in plain terms: a small body, a flagship chip, and a 7,500mAh cell. Colors are Healing White Chocolate, Relaxing Matcha, and Pure Cocoa. Body size is 150.56 x 71.82 x 8.35 mm, and weight is about 194 g.

Open sales started at 4,299 yuan for 12GB and 256GB (about $625, or about Rs 58,000). The 16GB plus 1TB model is 5,699 yuan (about $828). Last year’s 13T opened at 3,339 yuan, so the new floor is 960 yuan higher.

That hardware is not a rumor unit. It has been a Chinese retail phone since March 25. The India question is only whether a 15s badge, like the 13s, would follow.

What the OnePlus 15s Would Have Been

On paper the 15s was never a different invention. It was the 15T with an India name, the same path the 13T took. The China spec sheet is therefore the spec sheet Indian buyers were waiting on.

HOW THE 15T COMPARES WITH WHAT INDIA CAN BUY

The 15T uses a 6.32-inch 165Hz AMOLED panel at 2640 x 1216, with 1.1 mm even bezels, 800 nits typical and 1,800 nits in high brightness. The chip is Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 on 3 nm, with a 4.608GHz peak and an Adreno 840 GPU. OnePlus quotes an AnTuTu run of 4,455,423 in its own lab notes.

Cameras stay at two rear modules: a 50MP 24mm main on a 1/1.56-inch sensor with OIS, plus a 50MP 85mm 3.5x telephoto, also with OIS. There is no ultrawide. The front camera is 16MP. Ingress ratings go through IP68 and IP69. Software in China is ColorOS 16 on Android 16.

That is a serious small phone. It is also a phone that would have sat close to the OnePlus 15R on an Indian price list, which is the problem the 15s never had to solve in public.

June Came and Went Without a Compact Flagship

India’s compact window last year was June. The 15T landed in March, so a 15s in May or June would have copied that calendar. Brar had already put the odds of a kill near 90% in January, then a February leak claimed a camera tweak had revived the project. By mid-June the revival was gone.

THE COMPACT FLAGSHIP CALENDAR

1. January 2026: Brar puts the chance the 15s is dropped near 90%.
2. March 24, 2026: OnePlus unveils the 15T in China.
3. March 25, 2026: China sales open at 10:00.
4. June 18, 2026: Brar says the 15s is not launching and that a OnePlus 16 India plan is not final.
5. June 30, 2026: OnePlus points the India calendar at an N6 instead of a compact flagship event.

Debayan Roy, a second India tipster, backed the same 15s call that week. OnePlus did not reply with a launch date, a teaser, or a denial. The June window closed. Late September still has no 15s product page on the India store.

India Is the Market OnePlus Publicly Kept

On July 16, 2026, OnePlus ended new product rollouts in Europe and North America. The company called it a “proactive global strategy adjustment.” Existing phones keep their promised patches and repairs. The North American community site and app shut on August 16, 2026, at 11:59pm ET. Eligible phones move from OxygenOS to ColorOS with the Android 17 update in every region, with a stated rollback path onto older OxygenOS builds.

The same week, OnePlus said India stays open. Vice president of OnePlus India Business, Ford, pointed to recent launches and named the N6x as part of the near-term mix. Marketing director Ishita Grover told colleagues the India business was not part of the Western shutdown. Oppo PR representative Nicole Okpokiri would only add that the China roadmap is unchanged.

After careful assessment, OnePlus will no longer launch new products in Europe and North America. All users’ rights and interests, including after-sales support and software updates, will remain fully guaranteed.

That is the split. Western owners keep software support after the Western exit, and they get no new OnePlus phone. India is told it is still a home market. The compact SKU that made OnePlus feel distinct from Oppo in India is the one that did not ship.

Brar put the India hardware question in one line, and he did not hedge the 15s half of it.

Y’all have been asking about OnePlus 16 India release. So, nothing is finalized as of now.. 15s on the other hand is not launching, it’s time to MOVE ON!

Community head Yash Jain wrote that hearts were “undoubtedly heavy and mixed with emotion” when the Western cutoff was posted. India support has used a colder line. As late as September 21, the official OnePlus Support India account still said there was no official update on the 15s, and that any word would land first on the brand site.

That reply is not a launch. It is also not a funeral. It leaves a China phone on a public spec page and an India inbox full of the same holding text. Buyers still asked for a 15s date through September. Holding a purchase for a listing that never opens has a cost, because the big 15 already moved up and rival small phones do not freeze their tags for a rumor.

Robin Liu Left and the Share Kept Falling

Robin Liu, OnePlus India CEO since 2018, ended his tenure on March 31, 2026, and had already gone back to China. OnePlus thanked him and said he would “pursue his personal passions.” People briefed on the shuffle said he was asked to report to Realme CEO Sky Li, who had been lifted to oversee Oppo sub-brands. Liu and Li had been peers. No successor was named in the spring notices.

In January, Liu had posted that shutdown talk about India was false and that local operations were normal. The later official line still says India continues. The shipment trend underneath that line is ugly.

ONEPLUS IN INDIA BY THE SHARE

• 2025 overall: Share fell to 2.4%, from 3.9% in 2024.
• 2025 boxes: Cybermedia Research logged a 32% drop in shipments.
• Premium slice: Counterpoint had OnePlus at 16% of phones above Rs 30,000 in 2023; in the first half of 2026 that slice was 5%, and overall share was 2%.
• The group: Vivo, Oppo, and Realme held 17.8%, 13.6%, and 10% of India volume in that half; with OnePlus and iQOO, the BBK set was 55%.

India has been about half of OnePlus’s global phone volume, so this is not a side market. The brand also shifted toward online-heavy selling to cut cost and protect margin, after years of building retail. A compact halo phone is harder to push when the shop floor is thinner and the group already fields Oppo and Realme next to it.

The Open 2 foldable did not arrive as a 2026 global OnePlus phone either. Tipsters described that hardware moving toward an Oppo Find N6 instead. OnePlus had already said in 2025 it would skip a foldable that year. The pattern is the same: the special SKU stays inside the parent map, and OnePlus keeps the simpler slab.

The 15R Is Already in That Price Band

A 15s at China-like money would have opened near Rs 58,000 before India tax, offers, and the memory spike that hit every brand this year. That is the same neighbourhood as the 13s, and it is the neighbourhood the 15R already occupies. Beebom’s late September list put the 15R at Rs 59,999. The main 15 launched at Rs 72,999 for 12GB plus 256GB and Rs 79,999 for 16GB plus 512GB, then showed up at Rs 85,999 for the base model on Amazon.

Those memory-driven India price increases are why a second flagship at 13s money became a worse internal fight, not a gift to fans. One thread under Brar’s post went straight at that: forget the 16, get the 15’s price under control. The 15s would have asked the same factory for a harder chassis, a huge cell, and a small 165Hz panel, then sold against a 15R the company already had to raise.

WHAT INDIA GOT INSTEAD OF A 15S

• The big 15: Still on sale, Rs 13,000 above its November 2025 base tag on the late Amazon listing.
• The 15R: The in-house phone already sitting in the old compact-flagship band.
• The N series: Nord 6 listed around Rs 46,490, with the N6x pushed out of its budget band as the cheap rung moved too.

Squeezing 7,500mAh and a cooling stack into 8.35 mm is expensive. If the return is a SKU that eats the 15R and sits under a 15 that already missed its old “flagship killer” price, the group math is simple. Oppo can keep the small phone in China. India can be told to buy the 15, the 15R, or an N-series set.

Will the OnePlus 16 Reach India at All?

Brar’s June 18 post left the 16 open. China has since moved. On September 21, OnePlus opened 16 reservations at home in Dark Forest, Mars Masterpiece, and Tomorrow’s Starlight, in four memory mixes from 12GB plus 256GB up to 16GB plus 1TB. Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 a day later, and OnePlus has said the 16 will use it. A launch date is still unposted; the working window described around the reservation page is October.

That would be the first numbered OnePlus flagship designed after the July cutoff. Europe and North America are already out. India is the remaining large question, and Brar has since said the country may get a 16R in place of the 16. OnePlus has not confirmed either path.

WHAT WE KNOW

• 15T in China: On sale since March 25, 2026, from 4,299 yuan.

• West: No new OnePlus products after July 16, 2026.
• 16 in China: Reservations open; chip named; launch date not named.

WHAT IS UNCONFIRMED

• A 15s revival: Support still refuses to call the phone dead, and still offers no date.
• OnePlus 16 India: Not final, per Brar, with a 16R swap in the air.
• A 2027 India shutdown: Denied by OnePlus India; not in the July 16 notice.

The compact OnePlus India actually knows how to sell already exists, under a T badge, on a China page. The 16 will decide whether the numbered flagship still has an Indian twin at all. Until that notice lands, the 15 at a higher tag is the last full OnePlus flagship the country can add to a cart, and the 15s is still a name with no SKU.
