OPPO A6 Pro Bets on Feel and a 7,000mAh Cell

The OPPO A6 Pro puts a 6.57-inch 120Hz AMOLED, IP69 sealing, and a 7,000mAh cell on 2024-class MediaTek chips. OPPO Indonesia launched the phone in Jakarta on October 7, 2025, with 4G trims from Rp 3,699,000 and a 5G model at Rp 4,699,000.

Gadget creator Kisen Kumar, posting as kk24gadget, said it still gives “a premium feel both when seen and when held,” even though it sits outside the flagship tier. That feel is the product OPPO chose to fund.

OPPO Put the Money on Glass, Seals, and Cells

Patrick Owen, vice president of OPPO Indonesia, told the Jakarta launch crowd that buyers should not have to worry about the phone slowing down, pointing to 5 Years Fluency Protection and a tough, trendy unibody. Eason Xu, product marketing manager, called the A6 Pro series the most powerful A-series OPPO had shipped, a claim aimed at design, screen, battery, and software polish rather than a new flagship chip.

Lee Du, senior hardware project manager, said OPPO raised battery size by 20% against the prior A-series pack. The Indonesia product page then stacks IP69, IP68, and IP66, military-grade shock tests, AGC DT-Star D+ cover glass, and an 8.00mm body that the global spec sheet lists at about 188g for the 4G model.

WHERE THE BILL OF MATERIALS WENT

• The screen: A flexible 6.57-inch AMOLED at 1080 x 2372, 120Hz, and 1,400 nits in high-brightness mode.

The 60-month fluency line is a lab result, not a promise of five Android version jumps, and the footnote says lag can still show up in real use.

The Chip Is a 2024 MediaTek Part

Indonesia sells two radios under the same name. The 4G A6 Pro (CPH2799) uses a MediaTek Helio G100. The 5G A6 Pro (CPH2781) uses a Dimensity 6300 built on TSMC’s 6nm process, with two Cortex-A76 cores at 2.4GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz, plus a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. MediaTek announced that 5G chip on April 19, 2024, months before this phone existed.

Both trims pair 8GB of LPDDR4X with 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 on the 4G model, while the Indonesia 5G launch SKU is 8GB + 256GB. Storage can grow through a microSD slot. RAM expansion can borrow unused storage as extra memory. None of that turns a 2024 mid chip into a 2026 gaming part.

OPPO still posts lab game notes: Mobile Legends at 90fps in high definition, PUBG Mobile at 60fps on the smooth preset, both in a “pro gamer” mode. Those figures come with the usual caveats about heat, network, and settings. Kisen’s own take is blunter and more useful. The phone is fine for WhatsApp, TikTok, CapCut, and light games. Heavy titles are not the job.

Buyers who treat the poster as a speed chart hit that wall first. The shell looks current. The silicon is the bill you pay later, once scrolling and chat are no longer the test.

The Screen OPPO Paid For

The 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED spec sheet is the other half of the wager. Peak refresh is 120Hz, with 60Hz and 90Hz steps on the 5G listing. Touch sampling hits 240Hz, and the default is 120Hz. Typical brightness is 600 nits. High-brightness mode is 1,400 nits. Color depth is 1.07 billion (10-bit), with Vivid at 100% DCI-P3 and Natural at 100% sRGB.

Bezels are listed at 1.67mm, and the screen-to-body claim is 93%. Pixel density is 397 PPI. For the people Kisen has in mind, students, parents, and anyone living in chat apps, that panel is the “premium” they can see in daylight and feel when they swipe.

China’s A6 Pro is a different machine again, with a Dimensity 7300 and a starting price of CNY 1,799. Do not mix that chip into an Indonesia box. The phone on sale in Jakarta shares the AMOLED size and the 80W brick, not the Chinese SoC.

7,000mAh and 80W Carry Daily Use

The battery is the argument that survives a week of use. OPPO’s Indonesia tests list 20.6 hours of YouTube at 720p, 40.3 hours of voice calls with the screen off, and 29 hours of WhatsApp calls. Standby is quoted at 32 days. SUPERVOOC at 80W is rated at 26 minutes from 1% to 50%, and 61 minutes to full. The pack is still supposed to hold more than 80% after 1,830 cycles, which is about five years at one cycle a day.

Some regions ship a 6,500mAh cell in an A6 Pro 5G. Indonesia’s pages keep the 7,000mAh typical number on both the 4G and 5G models. Arga Simanjuntak, head of public relations at OPPO Indonesia, said the pack can top up earbuds, a smartwatch, or a portable fan through reverse wired charging, which is the emergency power-bank trick the company pushed at launch.

Compatible inbound rates include SUPERVOOC at 67W and below, PPS (33W on the 4G spec sheet, 44W on the 5G sheet), and 13.5W PD. Forget the brick overnight and the 26-minute jump still covers a commute. That is the daily math OPPO wants in the store, not an AnTuTu screenshot.

What the 50-Megapixel Camera Leaves Out

The rear module is a 50MP wide camera at f/1.8 with a 76-degree field of view, autofocus, and a 5-element lens, plus a 2MP monochrome camera at f/2.4. The selfie camera is 16MP at f/2.4. Rear video on the official sheet tops out at 1080p at 60fps, with 1080p slow motion at 120fps. There is no 4K line on that page, and no optical stabilization listed next to the 50MP sensor.

Shooting modes include Night, Portrait, Underwater, PRO, and dual-view video, which is how OPPO uses the IP69 rating as a party trick rather than a camera upgrade. Kisen said the stills look ready to post with little editing, which matches a ColorOS look aimed at family shots and selfies, not a manual workflow.

Daylight output is the friendly part of the stack. Low light and anything that needs an ultra-wide or a steady 4K clip are where the 2MP helper and the missing OIS show. The camera is built for the same person as the battery: someone who wants a shareable image, not a second shooter.

India Sells a Different Phone Under the Same Name

OPPO’s India product page lists a 17.15cm LCD, 1,125 nits, a Dimensity 6300, a 7,000mAh cell, and 80W charging that it times at 64 minutes to full, with 40 days of standby and 30 minutes from 1% to 54%. Launch prices there on January 5, 2026 were Rs 21,999 for 8GB + 128GB and Rs 23,999 for 8GB + 256GB, in Aurora Gold and Cappuccino Brown. That is not the AMOLED slab Indonesia is selling.

THREE PHONES, ONE NAME

The official Jakarta launch prices sat beside a pre-order window from October 2 to 9, 2025, with a stated bundle worth up to Rp 3.6 million, including Enco Buds3 Pro at Rp 449,000 and a year of OPPO Care at Rp 699,000. On October 10, OPPO Indonesia posted that both trims were on sale.
