Nothing Phone (4b) Launches in India Today Alongside Ear (3a)
Nothing launches the Phone (4b) in India at 3:30 PM IST alongside the Ear (3a) and the RCB Edition. Leaks, expected price and how to watch the livestream.
Nothing’s newest smartphone tier lands in India today. The Phone (4b) launches at 3:30 PM IST on July 7 alongside the Nothing Ear (3a), making it the first ‘b’ series model in Nothing’s lineup. A Bengaluru-only Phone (4b) RCB Edition joins the standard models on the same afternoon.
Nothing has confirmed the launch on its official X account and opened a Flipkart microsite ahead of the event. Co-founder and India president Akis Evangelidis has framed the Phone (4b) as a more affordable on-ramp into the brand’s lineup, sitting below the existing Phone (4a). A Geekbench listing and multiple leaks point to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset, a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, and Android 16. India pricing is widely tipped to come in under Rs 30,000, with Nothing saving the official figure for the livestream.
A New Sub-Tier Takes Shape
Today is the day Nothing opens a new rung on its phone ladder. The Phone (4b) is the first ‘b’ series model in Nothing’s lineup, positioned below the existing Phone (4a) range as a more affordable on-ramp. Co-founder Akis Evangelidis has said the A Series will continue to serve as the brand’s most premium offering below its flagships, while the B Series targets a different and more affordable segment. The ‘b’ label itself is a designation, not an acronym.
Nothing’s own teaser described the device as a side effect of routine work. The official Nothing post that confirmed the launch read: “Phone 4b. Kept sketching the Phone 4a series and accidentally made a new phone.” That framing matters for where the b-series sits: a mid-range slot Nothing has never sold into at scale in India. The launch also follows Nothing’s recent confirmation that it will not ship a new CMF smartphone this year. Evangelidis pointed to rising component costs, especially memory prices, as the reason a meaningful successor at the right price point was not feasible. Some projects that had been planned under the CMF brand have reportedly been moved into the mainline Nothing brand, with the Phone (4b) widely tipped to be one of them.
On the meaning of ‘b’, Nothing has stayed blunt. “What does (b) stand for? Nothing,” Evangelidis wrote on X.

The Spec Brief, From Confirmed to Leaked
Nothing has confirmed the chipset family but stopped short of naming the specific chip on stage. A Geekbench listing under the model number A009P points to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 paired with 8GB of RAM. The same chipset already powers phones like the OPPO K13 5G and Realme P3 5G, putting the Phone (4b) in the upper mid-range segment by performance. The benchmark listing shows Android 16, which would make the Phone (4b) one of the first phones to launch on Google’s newest version. Nothing has separately confirmed on its teaser page that a Snapdragon chip will run the device.
The screen is the other piece Nothing has hinted at without locking in the numbers officially. The Phone (4b) is tipped to ship with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ OLED panel at a 120Hz refresh rate. Nothing’s pre-launch material confirms a 120Hz AMOLED, in line with what leaks have been saying. Nothing’s signature Glyph Interface returns in a horizontal layout across the rear, similar to the Phone (4a).
RAM and storage are expected to come in up to 8GB of LPDDR4X and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2. The phone is tipped to ship with Android 16-based Nothing OS out of the box. Other rumoured features include stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and an IP64 dust and splash resistance rating. The Phone (4b) is also expected to carry a dual rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilisation, alongside an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. A 16-megapixel front camera is expected to handle selfies.
Nothing has positioned the Snapdragon chip as bringing meaningful on-device AI capabilities. That pitch lines up with a wider industry trend where mid-range Snapdragon 6-series silicon is being marketed as ready for everyday AI tasks. The actual AI feature list for the Phone (4b) will only land during today’s livestream.

Three Hardware Details Still in Flux
The camera brief is one of the more interesting calls in the rumour trail. The most consistent leaks point to a dual rear setup led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilisation, paired with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide shooter. A 16-megapixel front camera is expected to round out the package. Early design teasers, however, suggested a single rear camera; the renders HT Tech reviewed show a layout where the rear sensors sit nearly flush against the transparent-style back.
The body looks set to trade some premium weight for cost. Reports reviewed by HT Tech indicate Nothing may use a plastic frame, even though the design sketches look like they could be metal. The Glyph Interface is back in a horizontal arrangement across the back, similar to the Phone (4a), with a pill-shaped section housing the LED flash. The battery is where the leaks visibly diverge: tipster Yogesh Brar has suggested a 5,400mAh cell, while another roundup of the rumoured specs puts the Indian variant at 6,000mAh with 33W charging. The same roundup adds that the global version of the phone would use a slightly smaller battery than the Indian one.
Each Variant Lands in a Different Channel
Standard Phone (4b) variants are expected to come in black, blue and white. Nothing India shared an early design tease showing the blue model most prominently.
The RCB Edition turns the page on what an affordable-tier phone can look like. It has been built in partnership with Royal Challengers Bengaluru, celebrating the franchise’s back-to-back IPL title wins in 2025 and 2026. The colour is matte red, which RCB players appeared to lean toward when shown two design options ahead of the reveal. The RCB Edition will go on sale only at the Nothing Bengaluru Store, with doors opening at 4:00 PM IST on July 7. There will be no wider retail release for the RCB Edition, and Nothing has not announced any online availability. Pricing is unofficial so far, but reports peg the standard Phone (4b) at around Rs 30,000, sitting below the Phone (4a) which currently starts at Rs 37,999.
The standard model will be available through Nothing’s usual channels, with the Flipkart microsite already live before the launch. Pricing details beyond the leak-based expectation will be confirmed on stage this afternoon. Nothing has so far treated price, software feature lists, and final battery capacity as the things worth saving for the event itself.
| Variant | Colours | Sale channel | Timing |

The Ear (3a) Lands on the Same Stage
The Nothing Ear (3a) shares today’s stage with the Phone (4b). Nothing has confirmed four colour options for the new TWS buds: White, Black, Yellow and Pink. The colour tease came through Nothing’s official X handle ahead of the event. The Ear (3a) is positioned as the more affordable sibling to the Nothing Ear (3) launched last year.
Pricing for the Ear (3a) is also still unofficial in India, but a leak ahead of launch puts the buds at EUR 99 in France. That figure matches the launch price of the Ear (a) in 2024, suggesting Nothing is keeping the entry price flat for this generation. The Ear (a) sold as the more affordable cut of the Ear line at the time, focusing on active noise cancellation and a transparent-but-refined design. The Ear (3a) appears set to follow the same formula, with the four-colour palette adding a pink option. Nothing’s official launch post teased the buds in one line.

That teaser came from Nothing’s official handle on X. The line was used as the official confirmation post for the Ear (3a) launch. The same post set the launch time as 7 July at 11:00 BST, which lands at 3:30 PM IST for viewers in India. The Phone (4b) launch sits inside the same event.
For viewers in India, the stream is scheduled to run from 3:30 PM IST on July 7. Nothing typically runs these launches through its own channel, with the Flipkart microsite surfacing alongside the stream. The brand’s own teaser thread has kept both dates and price under wraps.
For the matte-red RCB Edition, the path is in-store only. The Nothing Bengaluru Store opens its RCB Edition doors at 4:00 PM IST on July 7. Standard Phone (4b) variants are expected to go on sale the same day via Flipkart and Nothing’s usual retail partners. Pricing, exact battery capacity and the final software feature list will all be confirmed during the livestream itself. Nothing has already confirmed the chipset family, the design language and the b-series positioning, with the rest left to today’s event.
