iPhone 17 prices in India could climb across every model in the lineup, according to a price prediction list posted by tipster Sanju Choudhary on the prediction list he shared on June 28. The forecast sends the entry-level iPhone 17 from Rs 82,990 to Rs 94,900 and the top-end iPhone 17 Pro Max as high as Rs 1,99,900, and lands weeks after Apple raised prices across most of its non-iPhone lineup in India and days before a Flipkart sale opens.

Apple has not commented on any of the numbers, and no Indian pricing page has changed. Apple has explicitly warned more products will follow the Mac and iPad hikes. Counterpoint Research told Moneycontrol the current window gives buyers an incentive to advance their purchase decisions. The Flipkart GOAT Sale opens on July 12.

What the Tipster’s List Actually Shows

Choudhary published the prediction list in a single post on X, with each line showing a current India price and the figure he expects to replace it. The largest forecast sits at the top of the lineup, where the iPhone 17 Pro Max could move from Rs 1,49,900 to a band of Rs 1,84,900 to Rs 1,99,900. The iPhone 17 Pro, currently Rs 1,34,900, is forecast to land in a Rs 1,54,900 to Rs 1,69,900 range. The iPhone Air is tipped at Rs 1,34,900, up from Rs 1,19,900. The iPhone 17e is forecast at Rs 74,900 against the existing Rs 64,900. The entry-level iPhone 17 moves from Rs 82,990 to Rs 94,900.

Model Current India price Tipped new India price
iPhone 17 Rs 82,990 Rs 94,900
iPhone 17e Rs 64,900 Rs 74,900
iPhone Air Rs 1,19,900 Rs 1,34,900
iPhone 17 Pro Rs 1,34,900 Rs 1,54,900 to Rs 1,69,900
iPhone 17 Pro Max Rs 1,49,900 Rs 1,84,900 to Rs 1,99,900

Choudhary’s own framing is direct. “If true, then this will become one of the biggest price hikes ever in the smartphone industry,” he wrote in the same post. Apple has not announced or confirmed any of the numbers, and no Indian pricing page has changed to match them.

The Memory Cost Squeeze Behind the Forecast

Earlier in June, Apple raised prices on MacBooks, iPads, Apple TV and HomePod models in India, citing an “unprecedented” jump in memory and storage costs driven by AI data-center demand. Apple flagged the same pressure in April, when it warned that existing inventory would cushion the impact only until the end of June. The India price hikes are the first visible hand-off of that pressure to customers. The forecast from tipster Choudhary lands in that exact window.

The India-specific numbers are sharper than the iPhone forecast. The 13-inch MacBook Air with the M5 chip moved from Rs 1,19,900 at launch to Rs 1,49,900. The Mac Mini M4 climbed roughly 38% in India. The Apple TV 4K in its 128GB variant moved from Rs 16,900 to Rs 31,900, which Apple’s earlier India price hike that spared iPhones flagged as the steepest move across Apple’s portfolio. The HomePod moved from Rs 32,900 to Rs 44,900, and the HomePod mini from Rs 10,900 to Rs 15,900.

The trigger sits inside the memory supply chain. Component costs have spiked as AI infrastructure builders absorb a growing share of NAND and DRAM supply. Counterpoint Research told Apple’s India Mac, iPad, Apple TV and HomePod price hike that memory prices had “increased more than fourfold since the fourth quarter of 2025.” Deutsche Bank has separately warned the imbalance could create a “memory inflation tax” for consumers, and Morgan Stanley’s recent “Chipflation” report has flagged the same pass-through.

Why iPhones Have Been Spared, and Why That May Not Last

Apple has not announced price increases for iPhones in India or globally. Counterpoint’s research director Tarun Pathak told Moneycontrol the iPhone contributes more than half of Apple’s total revenue, which makes any hike on the lineup a heavier lever to pull than on any other product. Apple has held back on iPhones even as it has passed memory cost pressure on to Mac, iPad, Apple TV and HomePod customers in India and globally. The same report called the hold-out “commendable, especially considering rising memory costs and broader macroeconomic headwinds.” India’s iPhone pricing has tracked the same pattern, with no revision since the Mac and iPad hikes landed earlier this month.

Counterpoint framed the iPhone hold-out as deliberate. “Apple continues to shield iPhone prices for now, which is significant given that the device contributes more than half of its total revenue,” the research firm told Moneycontrol. The same report noted that Apple’s outgoing Chief Executive Tim Cook had recently told The Wall Street Journal that higher prices had become “inevitable” as memory costs continue to climb.

The same quotes point to where the wall sits. Counterpoint added that “prices may increase in the coming months,” and the prediction list from Choudhary maps directly onto that window. Apple has already raised Mac, iPad, Apple TV and HomePod prices in India, and Counterpoint expects other PC and tablet OEMs to follow Apple’s lead. The tipster list is the most concrete India-specific version of that broader forecast.

The memory cost backdrop, the explicit Apple statement that more products would follow, and the Cook “inevitable” comment together set the floor under any iPhone price hike forecast. Counterpoint’s framing leaves the timing question with Apple, not with buyers.

The consumer electronics industry is facing an unprecedented challenge. The rapid expansion of AI data centers has created an extraordinary surge in demand for memory and storage. We have never seen a component price increase this much, this quickly. We have shielded our customers from these increases so far, but we have now reached a point where we need to begin raising prices on a number of products, including today’s increases for iPad and Mac. We know this is not welcome news, and we are working tirelessly to find solutions.

That statement came from Apple, in the press materials accompanying the Mac and iPad price hikes in India.

The Flipkart GOAT Sale Window

For buyers weighing whether to act now or wait, the timing is unusually tight. Flipkart has confirmed the GOAT Sale 2026 opens on July 12 for Flipkart Plus members and on July 13 for all users, with bank offers, exchange bonuses and no-cost EMI on eligible products stacked on top of base discounts. The platform has already named the iPhone 17 and iPhone 16 among the premium smartphones that will get sale cuts. Flipkart grouped those iPhone deals under a “premium” category that also includes Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, Nothing and vivo flagships.

Our earlier reporting found an iPhone 17 Pro Max Flipkart deal with bank offers already on the platform. Flipkart has confirmed the iPhone 16 will also be part of the premium deals lineup alongside the iPhone 17. The platform has not confirmed the exact sale prices for either model.

The GOAT Sale is positioned to widen that kind of cut across the iPhone 17 family. Apple’s official India list prices have not moved yet. Counterpoint told Moneycontrol the current situation gives buyers an incentive to act. Apple’s own statement said it had “now reached a point where we need to begin raising prices on a number of products.” The Flipkart window is the last one before any hike lands.

The Buyer’s Bet

Two things have to be true at once for any buyer making this decision. The first is that the prediction list is a forecast, not a price sheet, and Apple has not confirmed any of it. The second is that every directional cue from Apple and its component analysts points the same way. The company has explicitly said more products will follow the Mac and iPad hikes. Apple’s outgoing CEO has called higher prices “inevitable.”

The trade-off lands cleanest in Counterpoint’s framing. “While prices may increase in the coming months, the current situation provides an incentive for buyers to advance their purchase decisions,” Pathak told Moneycontrol. A buyer who treats the GOAT Sale as the floor and the prediction list as the ceiling ends up with a simple spread between paying near today’s prices now and paying the predicted prices later.

  • 4x rise in memory prices since Q4 2025, per Counterpoint Research
  • ~89% price jump on Apple TV 4K 128GB in India
  • ~38% price jump on Mac Mini M4 in India
  • Rs 1 lakh price jump on the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M5 Max chip in India from launch

Frequently Asked Questions

Has Apple confirmed the iPhone 17 India price hike?

No. The current India prices on Apple’s website remain the same, and the list is a forecast, not a price sheet.

When does the Flipkart GOAT Sale start?

The Flipkart GOAT Sale 2026 opens on July 12, 2026 for Flipkart Plus members and on July 13, 2026 for all users. Moneycontrol reported the dates on June 25, 2026. The sale runs as a discount window with bank offers and exchange bonuses on top of base prices.

Why is Apple raising prices on its products?

Apple has cited an “unprecedented” surge in memory and storage costs driven by AI data-center demand. Counterpoint Research told Moneycontrol memory prices have increased more than fourfold since Q4 2025. Apple’s own statement said the industry has never seen a component price increase this fast. The same component pressure that lifted Mac and iPad prices in India is now the focus of any iPhone forecast.

Should I wait or buy now?

That is a personal call. Counterpoint’s framing is that the current window is the last one at these prices. The Flipkart GOAT Sale is short and stock is expected to be limited. A buyer who decides to wait is betting Apple holds iPhone prices flat past Q3 2026. The prediction list points the other way.

Is this the start of a broader iPhone price cycle?

Tim Cook has said higher prices are “inevitable,” and Counterpoint expects the memory cost pressure to persist through 2026. Any forecast beyond that window is a forecast, not a price sheet.
